Swimming Sports

Splash!!!!!!!

The water rippled past me as I dived into the water. The chill shivered up me like I had bitten into an ice block . My togs stuck to me like I was a magnet. As I started to use my arms I could already feel the pain but I told myself to keep going till the end.

I heard the splashing and smacking beside me and I could see the people pulling faces in the water and not even knowing it. I was starting to lose my breath but as I took my last gulp of air I knew I was coming last.

Smack , I hit the wall with my hand. Although I was last I was relieved and it had been a brilliant day!!!!

Why don’t we want to see these animals on the NZ bush?

Possums are destroying our beautiful green trees and plants. Possums will munch through around 9,000 tonnes of leaves, berries and fruit every night.
They damage they can do?

They are Omnivores so that means they eat meat and veggies. Equivalent to 190 hamburgers each night
30 million possums in New Zealand
Babies - 6-25 young one to three times a year, usually between January and July. 13 will survive because mum has 13 teats.

Why are they Nocturnal ? - They smell best at night.

Eyes - Yellow/Red at night.
Traveling - travel alone but do stay in the same tree but they fight.

So thats why we don’t we want to see these animals on the NZ bush?
